The son of Jesse Ethan Allen & Martha Matilda (Luce) Allen
Married to Ruby Cook
Death of Ellis Allen
Ellis Allen died in a Palestine sanitarium Saturday morning, May 22, 1920 after undergoing two operations, one for appendicitis. He stood the first operation well, but was unable to recover from the second, which was performed several days after the first.
His remains were shipped to Grapeland and were interred Sunday afternoon in the Parker cemetery, near Jones School House. Funeral services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. J. F. Lively of this city.
Mr. Allen was a young man and a splendid fellow. He was a man who readily made friends and will be greatly missed in the community where he resided, four miles east of Grapeland.
He is survived by his wife, and two children; also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Allen, who reside in the Jones School House community.
We extend them our sincere sympathy in their sorrow.
