PEORIA, Ariz. - John Herman Adams, 87, Peoria, formerly of St. Joseph, Mo., died Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at the Sunnyside Villa Group Home, Glendale, Ariz.
John was born on Aug. 11, 1919, at Nodaway, Mo., to John and Lydia (Colvin) Adams.
He was an insurance salesman for Monumental Life and Reliable Life Insurance Companies.
John married Naomi (Adams) on Jan. 21, 1942, at St. Joseph. He was a member of the Family Worship Center, St. Joseph; and served on the church board and was an elder.
John's parents; brother, Ralph Adams; and sisters, Mabel Brandt and Esther Adams, preceded him in death.
Survivors: his loving wife of 65 years, Naomi Adams of Peoria; daughter and son-in-law, Sheryl and Roy Hoover, Peoria; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Marvelyn Adams, Newton, Iowa; and Timothy and Ruby Adams, Orrick, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life: 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2007, at Family Worship Center on John Glenn Road, St. Joseph. Interment: at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph. Public viewing and family receiving hours: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home, St. Joseph. The body will arrive at the church at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
The family suggests memorials to the Family Worship Center.
