Hi Randy,
Regarding the grave of Pvt Samuel Berry, mem #50971346, interred in Summerfield Cem., Monroe County, MI, I got his military record from www.suvcwdb.org.
Berry was born July 24, 1844, enlisted in the 121st Ohio Infantry, Co. B, August 18, 1862. Discharged June 8, 1865. Died November 8, 1901.
If you are not registered on the above website, why not consider it so you can submit the many Civil War graves onto it. Sometimes the data base already has it, sometimes not.
Those initials stand for Sons of Veterans of Civil War Data Base. Their office is in Rhode Island and it has congressional funding. I've submitted over 100, I don't get paid but since I am a "Cold War" vet, I get satisfaction in doing this.

Please see https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Berry-5225
Wikitree compares it’s profiles with Findagrave and reports errors when birth and death info disagree.
My source on wikitree shows he was baptized 12 February 1844 and born 6 months earlier on 24 Jul 1843.
If you check the SUVCW website http://www.suvcwdb.org/index.php?r=site/showgrave&graveid=569583
It correctly shows Samuel G Berry Co. E, 100th Ohio Infantry enlisted Sep 1
http://www.suvcwdb.org/index.php?r=site/showgrave&graveid=184191
shows Henry A Berry Co. E, 100th Ohio Infantry enlisted Aug 13
Aug 13 is when he enlisted in the Army, Sep 1 assigned to Co. E, 100th Ohio Infantry.
