MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Renee Bergeron Hidalgo, 46, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, in a Montgomery hospital after she was injured in a car accident on her way home from work.
She was a native of Moss Bluff, and she had lived in Montgomery for 9 1/2 years. She was a 1974 graduate of Sam Houston High School, where she received the W.T. Burton Scholarship. She was an honors student at McNeese State University, and she earned a bachelor's degree in nursing. She was a registered nurse.
Survivors include two daughters, Michelle Renee Duggan and Ashley Marie Duggan, both of Montgomery; her mother and stepfather, Rena M. Reed and Sam J. Reed Jr. of Moss Bluff; two sisters, Stephanie Bergeron Guillory of Eunice and Angelle Bergeron Rion of Moss Bluff; and one brother, Bryan Bergeron of LeBleu. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. William J. Bergeron.
Her funeral was held Friday, Aug. 2, in Alabama Heritage Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael Ladabie officiated. Burial was in Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Pallbearers were Peter Miller, Bryan Bergeron, Landry Guillory, David Carter, Darrell Duggan and Gray Glasscock. A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, in St. Theodore Catholic Church in Moss Bluff.
