Mrs. Ethel Clark, 87, of Monticello died Sunday, Feb. 5, 1989, at the Prairie View Rest Home in Lewistown. Services were held Tuesday at the Centenary United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bruce Jeffries. Burial was in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton. Born Aug. 23, 1901, in Clark County near St. Patrick, she was a daughter of John E. and Julia Hess Baker. She married John William Clark March 19, 1924. He died Nov. 19, 1957. Mrs. Clark attended Pride of the West School, St. Patrick High School, and Culver-Stockton College in Canton. She taught in rural schools before her marriage. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church near Canton. Survivors include two sons: J. W. of Monticello and Ronald of Quincy; a daughter: Anna Mae Richardson of Lewistown; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by two sisters.
