Elza Ellison, 88, of the Clark County Nursing Home, Kahoka, Missouri died on Saturday, June 2, 1990 at 1:30 at Keokuk Area Hospital, Keokuk, Iowa. Mass of Christian burial was on Monday, June 4 at the Shrine of St. Patrick in St. Patrick, Mo. with the Reverend Robert Duesdieker officiating with burial in the St. Patrick Cemetery. The music was provided by Pat Mallett, organist and Cyndy Krueger, soloist. The acolytes was Jason Richmond and Wesley Uhlmeyer. The pallbearers were Kenneth Krueger, Jr., Edwin Riney, Clarence Kirchner, Jim Sprugeon, Dennis Shaffer and Glen Brown. Honorary pallbearers were George Wiegand, Cecil Kilkeeny, Ben Minnerly and Clarence Hunziker. There was a wake service on Sunday evening followed by a rosary. Visitation was on Sunday with the family greeti9ng friends that evening. The arrangements were made by the Shaffer & Sons Funeral Home in Kahoka. Mr. Ellison was the son of Joseph A. and Annie Kirchner Ellison and he was bron in Clark County near St. Patrick on June 20, 1901. He was united in marriage to Letha Mary Riney on January 22, 1925 at St. Patrick and she preceded him in death on July 2, 1972. He is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Ben (Hazel) Minnerly, Canton; Mrs. Clarence (Ruby) Hunziker, Kahoka, Mrs. Virgie Bender, Canton; Mrs. Kathryn Sweet, Canton; and Mrs. Cecil (Franke) Kilkenny, Kahoka; several nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife.
