Funeral services for Mrs. Luella Elliott, 80, of Rt. 1, Percilla, were held Wednesday, March 20, in the Evergreen Chapel, Percilla, with Rev. W. H. Wieting and Calvin Dickey officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ed Shaw, Elzy Shaw, Mongo Edmondson, Leland Herod, Harold Mitchell, and Guy Manville. A native and lifelong resident of Houston county, Mrs. Elliott was born Nov. 29, 1882, daughter of the late Jackson McKinzie and Mrs. Janie Sullivan McKenzie.She was the widow of B. E. Elliott, who died in February, 1950. Member of the Methodist church, she died Monday at 11:20 p.m. at her home
following an illness of several months. Survivors include two sons, Elbridge (Pete) Elliott of Palestine and Earl
of Percilla; three daughters, Mrs. Erma Lou Bishop of Palestine, Mrs. Eleanor Frix and Mrs. Edythe Wagstaff, both of Percilla; a brother, Marshall McKinzie of Grapeland, four grandchildren, Don Bishop and Miss Joan Bishop, both of Palestine; a brother, Marshall McKinzie of Grapeland,four grandchildren Don Bishop and Miss Joan Bishop, both of Palestine, James Earl Elliott and Jerry Lynn Elliott, both of Percilla; a great grandson, Jackie Earl Bishop of Palestine. Arrangements were by Hassell & Foster.
