Nina Jones was born in Allen, Texas on June 10, 1912 to her parents John and Addie Jones. She confessed Christ at an early age uniting with St. Mary's Baptist Church in Allen, Texas where she was baptized by Rev. Robert Blake.
She attended schools in Allen and Dallas, Texas and received her education at Booker T. Washington High School in Dallas, Texas. She later met and married Henry Tennison in 1932 in Dallas, Texas.
She departed this life on April 13, 2002 and was preceded in death by her mother, Addie Jones; sisters, Jonnie B. Walton, Odessa Eules, Lidia Finklea; and brother, Romeo Jones.
She leaves to mourn her passing, sister Nancy Robinson of Allen, Texas; first cousins, Barbara Jones of Berkeley, California; Vada and Gerald Jones of San Francisco, California; Ruby Morgan of Dallas, Texas; Ornice Shelby of Dallas, Texas; and Athea Hillard Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
