A native of Greene County, a carpenter and a member of the Pentecostal faith, he died October 4 at Gulfport Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by a daughter, Christy Read; a granddaughter, Madison Nicole Read and a grandson, Rusty Cochran, all of Macon, Ga.; a brother, William "Pop" Beard of Lucedale and three sisters, Betty L. McLeod and Martha Hollinghead, both of Leakesville and Myrtis West of Petal.
Interment was held at Winborn Chapel Cemetery with Rev. W. H. McBay and Rev. Roger Puhr officiating the services.
