Donald Dooley, 74, died Saturday, June 2, 2001, after a long struggle with emphysema. A native of Fox Hill, Donald had been a longtime Hampton resident. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he returned home and attended the NACA Apprentice School. After leaving NACA, he went to Sears and Roebuck retiring after 30 years service. He spent many hours as a member and twice served as Exaulted Ruler of the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks No. 366.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen F. Dooley; two daughters, Donna Ingle of Poquoson, Va., and Judith Overman of Mooreland, Okla.; one brother, Richard Dooley of Yorktown, Va.; one sister, Connie Kirk of Florida; five grandchildren; six great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with Elks rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, in Parklawn Memorial Park. Please feel free to call on the family at their residence.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the V.A. Medical Center.

In memory of Mr. Dooley, please go visit a veteran in hopes of brightening their days.
