Death of Bufurd A. Chinn
Buford Allen Chinn died Sunday morning at 8 o'clock at the Mercy hospital in Chicago, where he went the latter part of October for an operation for hernia. The operation was entirely successful, but pneumonia soon developed, and while he was convalescing from the first attach, he had a relapse and death soon followed.
Mr. Chinn was born in Lafayette county, June 27, 1856, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph G. Chinn. Mr. Chinn was married to Miss Willie Donaldson, of near Blackburn, May 30, 1882. To this union three girls were born and survive, Mrs. George Colburn, Freeman, Mo., Mrs. R.W. Gentry, Winfield, Kansas, and Miss Pinkie of Lexington. Mrs. Chinn died September 20, 1888. Besides his three daughters Mr. Chinn is survived by his father, who is 91 years old, his mother, who is 81 years old, and four grand children.
Mr. Chinn conducted a shoe store in Lexington for many years. He was afterwards a traveling salesman, and had a wide acquaintance in the central west. Mr. Chinn was very much a home man, and was very devoted to his aged parents and three daughters.
The Intelligencer joins with his many friends in this community in expressions of sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the family residence, corner 16th and Main streets. Rev. S. Boyd White conducted the services.
