Following graduation, Mr. Garrigus, who was known as Garry, enlisted in the Navy and served abroad until the end of World War II. Just days after he returned he married Irene Y. Pariseau and moved to North Attleborough, where they lived until 17 years ago.
Mr. Garrigus worked as a sales representative for V. H. Blackinton & Co. for about 30 years, retiring in 1985. He was a longtime member of Central Congregational Church in North Attleborough. He served as assistant treasurer for five years in the early 1970s, church historian from 1979 to 1994, was a bylaw committee member, and then was a deacon. Mr. Garrigus was a member of the Council of Churches Bowling League at North Bowl in North Attleborough for about 40 years.
Besides his wife of 55 years, he leaves a daughter, Lynn L. Lynch of Tomball, Texas; four sons, Kenneth A. of Walpole, Steven N. of Mashpee, Thomas E. of Harleysville, Pa., and Roy D. of Wrentham; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
