Per Federal Census records, "Charlie" was the youngest of seven surviving children (siblings: Christian Reinhold, Nathanael, Mary Theresa, Emma, Gottlieb & Jacob Henry) born to Christian & Lydia ( Manderlin) Lentz; who married in 1882 in Russia . In the 1900 Census, his mother stated she lost one other child in infancy.

His Washington Death Certificate shows that Charles was a wheat farmer who died from a heart attack on his farm, which was located seven mile NE of Marlin, Washington. He never married.
