Kathryne was the second oldest, who survived to adulthood, child of Walter Joseph and Mary Elizabeth (Morf) Alden.

In 1902 Kathryne attended Central School, at a Christmas program she was to recite "A Note to Santa Claus" this tidbit was recorded in "The Kalispell Bee" on December 19. She was in the third or fifth grade. Katherine attended school until at least the age of 18 and finished the 7th grade.

In 1920 Kit worked as a saleslady in a department store, most likely in the Spokane area. From 1930 to 1940 she lived in Spokane and worked as a cashier.

In 1949 she lived in Tacoma but by 1957 she returned to Spokane. At the time of her death she was living with her sister Gertrude Agnes at 1105 Spring Street in Seattle (today an apartment complex stands here, unsure of their dwelling). Surviving her were her sister Gertrude and her brother Walter of Monrovia, California.

A rosary was held on Thursday, July 9th at 7:30pm in the Bonney-Watson Broadway Chapel. Requiem mass was said Friday, July 10th at 10am at St. Joseph's Church and was followed by her burial.

Kathryne's obit was published in "The Seattle Times", July 9, 1970 on page 52.
