Mr. Kucia was born in Cleveland and was a son of Joseph Kucia and Helen Gutowski. He worked as a security guard and had worked in prisons and hospitals. He took great interest in his dog, Raisin. He enjoyed watching home movies and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Angelo. He watched TV wrestling with his daughter and grandson.
Survivors include the late Bona M Kucia, daughter, Sharline Kucia Bridges of Gastonia, NC, two sons; Ed Kucia and Gerald Kucia of Mississippi.
Other survivors include: his partner, Sharon R. Nelson; a daughter, Jennifer Nelson; and his grandson.
