The Rev, A. Breeling officiated at last rites at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Cumberland Baptist Church for Mrs. Fred Adams, 83, who died at 3:55 p.m. Saturday at the Atlantic Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient 16 days. Nora Grace Howell was born in Davis County, Sept. 8, 1876, the daughter of George N. and Lorinda M. Hickman Howell and moved with her parents to Coon Rapids when a child. She was married to Fred W. Adams in Cass County, March 4, 1896, and they farmed in Adams and Cass County. Mr. Adams died March 11,1896. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Nellie Shepherd and Mrs. Hazel McGrath of Cumberland, Mrs. Ralph Shepherd of Walnut, and Mrs. Clyde McManis of Long Beach, Calif.; two sons, Floyd Adams of Omaha and Roy Adams of Des Moines, 12 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Clair Sothman and Mrs. Russell Sothman sang 'Whispering Hope' and The Old Rugged Cross', accompanied by Wilma Haines and Mrs. Wilbur South. Mrs. Lee Breckenmaker and Mrs. Frank Pop took care of the flowers. Pallbearers were Edward Ross, Robert Curtis, Walter Tibken, Clair Sothman, Robert Blankinship and Maurice Lehman and burial was in Weirich Cemetery, with Hodges Funeral Home in charge.
