Earl "Wayne" Brown, 64, of Warsaw, died Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Mason Healthcare Center in Warsaw.

He was born Aug. 31, 1945, in Milan, the son of Elmer and Lucy Stopher Brown. He was a member of the Air Force from 1965 to 1969, serving as a crew chief on a refueling plane over Vietnam. He worked in supervision most of his life, most recently as general manager of Bob Evans Farms Restaurant in Warsaw. He previously owned a flower shop in Vevay. He was a member of Vevay Post 185 of the American Legion and the American Quarter Horse Association. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and talking. He also enjoyed spring because it was his time to plant flowers and also was foaling time. He raised horses for many years. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Pierceton Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Reed Huffer Brown, whom he married Aug. 16, 1996; two daughters, Casie Hankins of Vevay and Angela Reid of Fort Wayne; one son, Clint Funnell of Scottsville, Ky.; two sisters, Dortha Curry and Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Markland, both of Rising Sun; three granddaughters; two grandsons; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James E. Brown; and one sister, Marjorie "Jean" Tyler.

The funeral was at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun. Burial was in Rising Sun New Cemetery in Rising Sun. Military honors were conducted graveside.
