Ronald M. Carmack, age 58, died at his home in Lander on Monday, Oct 23, 2000 following a year-long battle with cancer.
Services are Friday, Oct 27 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson's Funeral Home of Lander. The Rev Tom Lane of the First Methodist Church of Lander officiates. Burial follows at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander.
Ronald Meredith Carmack was born Oct 11, 1942, in Los Angeles, the son of Roy Eugene and Mary (Meredith) Carmack.
Roin married Nerene Gustin on June 22, 1984 in Boulder, Wyoming.
His family says he was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, camping, riding horseback and attending mountain man rendezvous. Ron participated in the One Shot sight-in activities.
He was a self-employed gunsmith.
He also restored old cars and was a member of the Elks and Eagles Lodges.
Ron and Nerene wintered at Lake Havasu, Ariz, and summered in Lander.
Survivors include his wife, Nerene; daughter Kelli Nielsen and son Shawn Carmack, both of Lander; step-daughter LeAnn Dinnel of Casper; step-sons Murray Shattuck of Erie, Colo, and Patrick Shattuck of Casper; a brother, Brent Carmack of Mission Viejo, Calif; and eight grandchildren with one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to Jim's Friends of the American Cancer Society in care of Hudson's Funeral Home, 680 Mount Hope Drive, Lander 82520, which has charge of arrangements.
