Alfred C. Amundsen lifelong resident of Wheaton.

The funeral Mass for Alfred C. Amundsen, 89, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Michael Church, 310 S. Wheaton Ave., Wheaton. Please Meet at the church.

Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road (one block east of Naperville Road), Wheaton.

He was a locomotive engineer for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 35 years, a life member of the Perrottet-Nickerson American Legion Post 76, a member of the VFW Post in Wheaton and also a member of RB Ryall YMCA in Glen Ellyn.

He was the beloved husband of Grace L., (nee Knudtzon); loving father of Thomas A. (Sally), Steven A., Nancy A. (Jerry) Anderson and Margaret M. (Dr. Richard) Powers; dear grandfather of eight, and great-grandfather of nine; dear brother of Virginia McDonald, and brother-in-law of Theresa Seitz and Phillip Seitz; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Donald A.; and a brother, Robert Amundsen.
