Earl joined Trinity Valley Baptist Church at an early age. He served until his health failed in 1985. Earl graduated from Liberty Training High School. He served two terms in the United States Army. He was employed by Liberty Sheet and Metal in Liberty, Texas.
Preceding him in death are his father, Ben Pickett, Sr.; mother, Eva Pickett Laviene; brother, Ben Pickett, Jr.; sisters, Shirley Pickett Ford and Martha Pickett Mitchell. Loved ones left to cherish Earl's memory include his sisters, Theresa Joyce White and Bernardine Williams; stepbrothers, Melvin Laviene and Robert Laviene, Dora Laviene and E. L. Laviene; stepsister, Mildred Hunt; and a host of relatives and friends.
