Helen Elizabeth Baker of Bentonville, Arkansas, died on March 26, 2010. She was 81 years of age. Helen was born in Okmulgee on June 25, 1928 to Claude and Cammie (Livingston) Moore. She graduated from St. Michael's High School in Henryetta and on September 17, 1950 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, she married Fred L. Baker. Helen was a devout Christian who loved her Lord. She was a very happy, playful, person who had a great laugh. She loved children and animals and had many pets. Helen was an artist at sewing and interior decorating and after retiring from the state of Oklahoma, she returned to the courthouse and was their AVON "lady" for years. She volunteered at the Helping Hands Thrift Store in Bentonville but was best known and loved for her ability to cook and bake for others and she took great pleasure in doing so. Her parents, a brother Joseph Moore and a sister Catherine Dodson, preceded Helen in death. Helen is survived by her husband Fred L. Baker of the home, and two children; son Ron Baker of Rogers, Arkansas, and daughter Andra Baker of DeSoto, Texas, brother Frank Moore and wife Christine of Okmulgee, nephew David Moore and family, nephew Arthur Dodson and family, niece Linda Dodson, nephew Joseph Moore and family, niece Mavis Knodel and family and numerous great nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee with Reverend Don Moor officiating. Interment will follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday until service time.
