Services for Mrs. James C. (Gladys) Brooks, 70, of Liberty, Miss., will be today at 4 p.m. September 16, 1983 at Byrd's Chapel Church of God with the Revs. James Franklin, J. M. Cain and Julius Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Byrd's Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Brooks died Wednesday, September 14, 1983 at Jefferson Davis Memorial Hospital in Natchez, Miss. She was a member of the Byrd's Chapel Church of God.
Survivors include husband, James C. Brooks; two sons, Donald Brooks of Liberty and L. E. "Bo" Brooks of Magnolia, Miss.; five daughters, Mrs. Esther Paretti and Mrs. Faye Mullins, both of Natchez, Miss., Mrs. Sylvia
Holland of Meadville, Miss., Mrs. Pauline Foster of Bude, Miss., Mrs. Rachel Elmore of Liberty, Miss.; one Brother, T.J. Lairmore of Liberty; one sister, Nita Bell Bateman of Liberty; 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by a son, Candler Brooks in 1980.
Pallbearers: Michael Mullins, Louis Paretti, Lionel Brooks, Donald Brooks, Jr., Philip Brooks, Jim Foster, all grandsons. Honorary pallbearers; Joe Foster, James Brooks, Keith Brooks, Joe Paretti, Nick Paretti, all grandsons.
Laird Funeral Home of Natchez is in charge of arrangements.
