PORT ST. LUCIE - William Airo, 83, of Port St. Lucie died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, Fort Pierce. A native of Teaneck, N.J., he lived in Port St. Lucie for 15 years. He moved here from Saddle Brook, N.J. Before retirement, he was a plant manager for a folding carton manufacturer. He served in the Army during World War II. He attended Holy Family Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie. He was a member of the Sandpiper Club Med Men's Golf Association. Survivors include his wife of 56 years Gertrude Airo of Port St. Lucie; two sons, William C. Airo and wife Nancy of Glendale, Ariz., and James B. Airo and wife Maureen of Pitman, N.J.; a daughter, Kathy Jones and husband Blaine of Reserve, N.M.; and five grandchildren. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at the Roger L. Byrd Port St. Lucie Funeral Home. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
