Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, August 22, at the Cardwell Baptist Church for Mrs. Emma Lee Allen, wife of Howard Allen. Mrs. Allen, a resident of Bragg City for the past few years died after a months illness, her death being attributed to undulant Fever. She was born in Memphis, September 4, 1913 and came to Cardwell with her parents when they moved there a few years later.
She was united in marriage to Howard Allen in January, 1931, and since that time she has made her home in the Bragg City community. She was a member of the Baptist Church of Cardwell at which place, as well as Bragg City, she was liked by all who knew her.
Surviving are her husband, Howard Allen and two-year-old son, Richard Howard, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Hallie Collins of Cardwell, one sister, Mrs. Bernita Knobloch of St. Louis, and three brothers, Leo and Russell of Cardwell, and Richard of St. Louis.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Bolton, pastor of the Cardwell Baptist Church and interment was made in the Cardwell cemetery.
