Della graduated from Arma High School, Pittsburg Normal Training School, and was a retired Crawford County school teacher. In her younger years, she played in Arma's All Girls Band along with her Mother, Aunt, and Cousin. Della also helped her parents, Joe and Della Jumet Buset at the Buset Hatchery. She married Frank Everett Laine on Feb 12, 1938 in Lamar, Mo. Della was a member of Arma United Methodist Church, past worthy matron of Kansas Chapter OES No 379. On Feb 08, 1990 Della received her Proficiency Certificate from Grand Chapter of Kansas OES. She was past mother advisory of the Order of Rainbow for Girls and held the Grand Cross of Color for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. She also was a member and past president of the Worthwhile Study Club in Arma. Della and Frank have a daughter, Sharon K. Smith, her husband, Walter W. Smith, and 3 Grandchilren all of Houston, TX.
