Selma Campbell Trivette, age 83, 228 Meadowview Church Rd, Butler, went to be with her Lord Saturday, May 10, 2008 in the Johnson County Community Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Ode and Fay Dugger Campbell. Mrs. Trivette was a graduate of the Watauga Academy, and spent the majority of her life as a homemaker lovingly taking care of her husband and children. She was a devoted member and past Sunday school teacher at Meadowview Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vance L. Trivette, Sr. and an infant son, Wesley Trivette. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Harrison and husband, Elwin "Sonny", and Carolyn Arnold and husband, Ross, all of Mountain City; two sons, Lowell Trivette and wife, Glenda, of Elk Park, NC, and Vance L. Trivette, Jr. and wife, Laura, of Marion, NC; a granddaughter, Amy Oliver and husband, Kevin, Mountain City; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Carroll and husband, David, and Greg Berryhill, all of Marion, NC; three step-great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Anna, and Meredith Carroll, all of Marion, NC; a brother, Raymond Campbell and wife, Anna Ruth, of Butler; and special friends, JoAnne Cable, Kathy Hartley, and Tina Clawson, all of Butler. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service for Mrs. Selma Trivette will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 13, 2008 in the Meadowview Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Jones, Rev. Charles Worley, and Rev. Russell Potter officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Meadowview Baptist Church choir. The graveside service and interment will follow immediately in the Dugger Family Cemetery in the Buntontown Community. Active pallbearers will be Randy Dugger, Bobby Hartley, Richard Trivette, Bill Trivette, Delmas Bunton, Greg Berryhill, and Carroll Hartley.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, May 12, 2008 in the Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home or at the home of her daughter, Carolyn Arnold, 500 Tom Phillippi Rd, Mountain City, other times.
