From the October 22, 1968 issue of the Illinoian-Star newspaper, Beardstown, Illinois: Mayme Edna Becker, 72, of Springfield and sister of a Beardstown man, died at St. John's Hospital in Springfield at 3:15 a.m. today. She was born in Beardstown, February 19, 1896, to Walter and Kathryn Huge Schuman. She married Raymond A. Becker, August 24, 1914 at Beardstown. He preceded her in death December 7, 1963. One brother, Elmer Schuman of Beardstown, survives. One brother and one sister preceded her in death. The body is at the Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Glenn Anderson officiating. Friends may call at the Williamson Funeral Home after noon Wednesday.
