Francis R. Blystone, age 80, resident of 24325 Henry Road, Cambridge Springs, PA died Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Malcom Randall Veterans Administration Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.
He was living at his winter home in Salt Springs and had taken ill there a week prior to his hospitalization.

Francis was born in Drakes Mills, Cambridge Township on July 4, 1929,

the son of the late Bernard Edward Blystone and Blanche Louise Dundon Blystone and had lived most of his life in the Cambridge area.
On February 9, 1953 he married the former Rebecca Jean Campbell and she survives.
He and his wife spent winter times in Florida since 1988.
Shortly after graduating from Cambridge Springs High School in the Class of 1948, Francis entered the National Guard and then was inducted into the US Army where he served with the 1st Calvary during the Korean War. He was discharged in 1952, worked for a short time for Good Year Aircraft in Akron, Ohio, and then began a 30 year work history for Meadville Brakeshoe as a machinist concluding there as an inspector. Many of those years up until 2000, Francis also worked as a dairy farmer changing eventually to raising beef cattle.
Francis enjoyed gardening, hunting, and especially camping with his family. He was skilled in a number of things including barbering and bee keeping. He also enjoyed boating and cooking. Francis was a member of Cambridge Springs American Legion Post #381 and of Venango Veterans of Foreign War Post #169.
Family members surviving Francis in addition to his wife, Rebecca of 57 years, include two daughters - Beverly Wright and her husband, Wayne and Rebecca Snow and her husband, Keith; two sons - Bernard Blystone and his wife, Larrie Rose and Raymond Blystone and his special friend, Chris Peters all living in Cambridge Springs. Ten grandchildren survive - Dustin Farrell and his wife, Stephanie; Bryan Farrell and his wife, Tami ; Adam Farrell and his fiancé, Leanne Reynolds; Aaron Wright; Abby Wright; Gregory Blystone; Jessica Manross and her husband, Joe; Douglas Snow and his wife, Melissa; Joshua Snow and his wife, Brieanne; and Kyle Snow. In addition there are 10 great grandchildren - Austin Farrell, Justin Farrell, Bryce Farrell, Tyler Farrell, Kiara Farrell, Lila Farrell, Kaylee Reynolds, Campbell Claire Manross, Emma Snow, and Grace Snow; a brother - Eugene Blystone of Southern Pine, NC, and a sister - June Lewis of Erie; and a niece - Cindy Roan.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend funeral services there on Saturday morning at 10:00. Reverend Jeff Bobin, pastor of the New Richmond United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment with full military honors will be at Jervis Cemetery.
