Born in York County, SC, she was a daughter of the late William L. And Mary Roach Sturgis and the widow of Lucius Alison Blackmon. She was a retired employee of Springs Industries, a member of he Home Demonstration Club, Senior Citizens and Rich Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Blackmon is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary Rose B. Lundy of Durham, NC, Mrs. Jean B. Rowell of Andrews, SC and Mrs. Ann B. Teague of Gastonia, NC; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
