Visitation for Laura L. (Chenoweth) Elliott of Bellingham will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Greenacres Funeral Home near Ferndale. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Murray of Calvary Chapel of Lynden officiating. Burial will be in Greenacres Memorial Park in Ferndale.

Mrs. Elliott died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at St. Francis Extended Health Care in Bellingham. She was 70.

Born April 11, 1930, to Dow and Cleo (Simpson) Chenoweth in Butler, Mo., she graduated from Butler High School.

Mrs. Elliott served as a teleman in the U.S. Navy for 16 months.

On April 23, 1953, she married Herbert L. Elliott in Hyattsville, Md.

Mrs. Elliott was a member of Garden Street United Methodist Church Quilting and Bellingham Music clubs, Women in Military Service for American Memorial Foundation and a former member of the Bell Creek Children's Orthopedic Hospital Guild.

She enjoyed painting, quilting, crafts and bird watching.

Her brother Dow Chenoweth Jr. and one grandchild died previously.

Survivors include her husband, of the family home daughters Marilyn DenHartog of Bellingham and Bonnie Timmer of Lynden son Scott Elliott of Everson sisters Carol Fawcett of San Antonio and Linda Arnold of Vanzant, Mo. nine grandchildren and 10 nieces and nephews.
