Jerry Ralph Martin, 67, of North Platte died Oct. 26, 2007, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte. Jerry was born Jan. 20, 1940, at Maxwell to Ralph Andrew and Irma V. Mitchell Martin. He grew up south of Maxwell and attended country school. He graduated from Curtis High School and then attended Kearney State College. Jerry was in the finance business, living in Omaha for about 21 years and then North Platte. Most recently, he had lived at the Pawnee Retirement Hotel, Premier Estates and the Sutherland Care Center. On Sept. 19, 1959, Jerry joined the U.S. Army Reserves and was a member until being honorably discharged on Aug. 23, 1965. Jerry was a member of the Eagles Club.
Survivors include his son, Anthony and wife, Karen Thompson of Des Moines, Iowa; two grandchildren, Ian and Bailey Thompson; a half-sister, Donna Gutherless of Cozad; and other family. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a half-brother, Dallas Stahr. Private inurnment will be in the North Platte Cemetery.
