Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Lake Wilson with the Rev. Jon Skaar officiating.
Pallbearers were Bryan Bose, Grant Bose, Christopher Samuelson, Stan Van Iperen, Jr., Steve Van Iperen, and Reid Stokesbary.
Honorary pallbearers were Dennis Culhane, Matt Slyter, Tighe Herren, Kurtis Van Iperen, Richard Danek and Mike Schatt.
Interment was at Hillside Cemetery, Lake Wilson.
Beryl Bose was born on Aug. 2, 1926 on a farm in Leeds Township, Murray County to Magnus and Florence Knee Bjerke. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school.
She married Kenneth Bose on Feb. 2, 1943 in Slayton. Following their marriage they lived on the Bose family farm.
Beryl worked at Campbell Soup in Worthington, the grocery store in Lake Wilson, Case Implement in Pipestone, Huisken's Meats in Chandler and the Pipestone County Medical Center Skilled Nursing Unit. She retired in 1990.
Kenneth passed away on May 17, 1975. Beryl continued living on the farm until the fall of 1984 when she moved to Lake Wilson.
She married Don Johnson on Jan. 5, 1991 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. They made their home in Lake Wilson. Don passed away on June 30, 1993.
In 1996 Beryl became a resident of the Slayton Manor Care Center.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at Lake Wilson.
She is survived by her five children: Marge (Demce) Krosschell, Lennox, S.D.; Rodney (Bev) Bose, Aitkin; Kathie (Bob) Herren, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Judy (Jerry) Samuelson and Henry (Colleen) Bose, all of Lake Wilson; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Virgil (Phyllis) Bjerke, Stanton, Calif. and three sisters, Leila Helmke, Lake Wilson; Velva Knorr, Madison, Wisc. and Lona (Charles) Cantrell, McMinnville, Tenn.; two sisters-in-law, Johanna Bose, Slayton and Elizabeth Holmbeck, Plato.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Kenneth Bose and Don Johnson; two infant children, Dale and Dianne Bose; two grandchildren; two brothers, Everett and Daryl Bjerke and two sisters, Frances Scotting and Meda Buchan.
