Elizabeth Grey Barbee, 84, of passed away March 22, 2010, at Five Oaks Manor in Concord.
Elizabeth was born July 16, 1925, in Cabarrus County, to Dexter and Dora Gray who preceded her in death.
Her husband, John Layton Barbee, and a daughter in law, Karen Barbee, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Barbee worked at Cannon Plant 1 in Concord as a sewer until retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Locust, former Sunday School teacher, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 6:00 – 8:00, Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be Thursday, 4:00, First Baptist of Locust, with a 30 minute state, Dr. Kinney Wallace will officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include sons, William Franklin "Bill" Barbee and friend, Debbie Medlin of Stanfield and Eddie Wayne Barbee and wife Debbie, of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, John, Jimmy, and Jody Barbee, Julie Anderson, and Jennifer Anderson; eleven great-grandchildren; special friends, Allen Forsythe, Cora Mae Laws, Bonnie Rawls, and Wanda Bradford.
