-Lawrence Robert Bos, 59, of Sigourney died Sunday, May 31, 1987 from drowning in an accident south of What Cheer. He was born Dec. 29, 1927 in Thornburg, the son of Peiter Jan Bos and Margaret M. Husband.

He was a lifelong What Cheer area resident and was engaged in farming. He married Dorothy Jean Carmer on Feb. 13, 1949 in What Cheer.

He is survived by his mother; his wife; three sons: William Eugene of What Cheer, Edward Lee of Ottumwa, Peter John of Drakesville; one daughter, Luann (Mrs. Ron) Little of Thornburg; ten grandchildren; and two brothers: Fred J. of What Cheer and James H. of Keswick.

He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, and one son Bob.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Harden Funeral Chapel in What Cheer with Rev. Kenneth Arentson and Rev. Gary Dobbins officiating. Burial will be in the McFarlan Cemetery. The family will greet friends and relatives from 7-8:30 p.m. this evening at the chapel.
