Son of Johannes Rudolf and Veronica (Hershberger) Glattfelder. Johannes Rudolph's father had immigrated here from Glattfelden, Switzerland at the age of 12. His father, Johannes Peter Glattfelder, did not survive the journey and died at sea, which left his mother, Salomea (Amberg) Glattfelder, with six children to care for on arrival here.

Son, William Nathan Clodfelter (1815–1896) - burial location unknown.

John C. Clodfelter (1782-1831) was the son of Johann Rudolph Glattfelder (1731-1814) (born in Switzerland, died at Davidson County, North Carolina) and his first known wife, Veronica Hershberger (1740-1782). Most records show John to be born in Pennsylvania and Veronica to have died in North Carolina. Did they move from Pennsylvania to North Carolina the year John was born and the year that Veronica died?
