Mrs. Alice Bowser, 78, died unexpectedly at 12:45 p.m. yesterday October 31, 1951 in her home at 319 Harrison Street, West Kittanning. She was the widow of A. Reed Bowser who died in August 1945. A member of the Montgomeryville Baptist Church, she was also a member of the Missionary Society of that church. She is survived by two sons, Harry Dougherty, Troy, OH; one step-son, Gerald Bowser, Adrian, R.D.#1; one step-daughter, Mrs. C.M. Ruffner of Adrian, R.D.#1, and 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Other survivors are three sisters, Mrs. A.C. Hayes, Mrs. Maude Smith, and Mrs. W.H. Swigart all of West Kittanning and one brother, F.W. John of West Kittanning. Friends will be received at the late home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Montgomeryville Baptist Church. Her pastor Rev. Silas B. Acklin will conduct the services, assisted by Rev. Wesley Dixon. Burial will be made in the West Glade Run Cemetery.
