Mrs. Hazel Alter, 77, St Paul, died Wednesday
Resident of St Paul for 57 years; born in Homer Nov 10, 1900; daughter of Theodore Brown and Laura (Heaton) Brown.
Feb 12, 1921, married Dr. Wayne Alter (died May 12, 1968).
Member of St Paul United Methodist Church, the Waldron OES, St Paul Music Club, and the Literary Club of St Paul.
Last surviving of nine children. Survived by two sons: William A. Alter and J. Robert Alter; one daughter, Mrs. Mary R. Martin; eight grandchildren.
Burial will be at Paul Hill Cem.

HAZEL ALTER
Hazel Alter, 72, St. Paul, Indiana, died Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at Carmel Health Care Center in Carmel. She had been in failing health for 18 months. Mrs. Alter had been a resident of St. Paul for 57 years.
Born November 10, 1900 in Homer, Ind., she was the daughter of Theodore Brown and Laura Heaton Brown. On February 12, 1921, she was married to Dr. Wayne Alter who preceded her in death May 12, 1968.
She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in St. Paul, the Waldron O.E.S., St. Paul Music Club and the Literary Club of St. Paul.
Survivors include two sons, William H. Alter, Bedford, Ind. and J. Robert Alter, Carmel, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Mary R. Martin, Indianapolis; and eight grandchildren. She was the last of nine children.
Funeral service will be held at the Glenn E. George Funeral Home in St. Paul Saturday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tom Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in the Paul Hill Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday.
