Clara B. "Sis" Adams, age 82, of Kittanning died Friday, March 19, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on March 18, 1928 in Trafford, Westmoreland Co., PA to Charles and Josephine (Krobert) Cawley. Sis was a 1948 graduate of Kittanning High School and attended the Elderton Presbyterian Church. She was employed by Paul's Auto Parts and the former G. C. Murphy Store, both of Kittanning, where she worked as a clerk. Additionally, Sis was a volunteer at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital for 15 years. She was a member of the Friday Night Ball and Chain Bowling League, Tuesday Allegheny Woman's Bowling League, and a charter member of the Kit-Han-Ne Court #126. Sis took great pride in her Hummel collection and was an avid sports fan that enjoyed the Steelers and the Penguins. She was an animal lover and enjoyed playing slot machines at casinos. She is survived by one daughter, Doris Adams and companion John Turner of Kittanning and two step sisters, Sue Simmons of Carlisle, PA and Kay Long of Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, D. Ross Adams whom she married July 8, 1950 and who died February 5, 2004; and a daughter, Carol Adams who died August 25, 2005. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 on Monday, March 22, 2010 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning. Additional visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral services at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. John Snyder and Rev. William Milligan co-officiating. Interment will follow at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, E. Franklin Twp., Armstrong Co.
