J. E. ABBOTT
The body of James Eugene Abbott was brought to Red Oak Thursday morning from Crawford, Nebraska and buried in Red Oak Cemetery. Mr. Abbott was found dead in his chair at his home, but as he was subject to heart failure, that is given as the cause of his death.
MR. Abbott was a former citizen of West Township and a neighbor of Mr. James Allen of this city, from whose home the funeral cortege started, short services being conducted at the grave by Rev. Nicol of the Christian Church.
The deceased was 52 years of age and lived in Montgomery County from the time he was 9 years of age , until twenty years ago, when he moved to Nebraska. He was a man of staring qualities and his memory will be highly appreciated by his former neighbors and friends, who extend their sympathy to the deceased's family.
Mrs. Abbot and son, William F., came with the body, besides whom deceased leaves four girls and four boys, all at home except for the oldest daughter, who is married and lives in Freeport, Ohio.
