Katherine M. "Kathy" Brown Battle Creek Katherine M. "Kathy" Brown, 48 of Battle Creek died Thursday, March 11, 2010. She was born July 27, 1961 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Chester Paul and Mary Martha (Davis) Sanford, Sr. A 1979 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School, she was currently employed at the Firekeepers Casino. Previously she had worked at Archway, Denso and The Dolphin Lounge. Kathy enjoyed gardening, was a certified scuba diver and loved people. Her marriage to Dennis Scott Brown ended in divorce. Surviving are her children: Valerie (Jim) Chapman and Trevor Brown; one grandson, Nathan Chapman who was her pride and joy; and one brother, Chester Paul Sanford, Jr. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Sandra Gastian officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
