father and brother Joshua Cannon, long a true and faithful member of the M.E. Church, and a
zealous Mason, has fallen in our midst, and now lies in the cold embrace of relentless death, it
becomes our duty and privilege, as his surviving brethren, to give expression of our appreciation of
his many virtues, and to our feeling some of the great and imparable losses, which the church,

Funeral Notice..The funeral of Joshua Cannon will be preached,next Sabbath, at Chickasawhatchie,
by Rev. C.A. Crowell.
Joshua was the child of John Cannon & Jemima Broughton of Sumter and Monroe Co Al.
He married Elizabeth Williamson Harris 1819 Greene Co Ga, and had 11 Children with her there.
They then moved to Meriwether where most of them married and to Fayette, where some followed, and most migrated to Terrell Co Ga.
Probably buried in this same cemetery-is the wife and at least two children and families.
