Survivors include two sons: Carl Swanigan, Montreal, and Wayne Swanigan, Linn Creek; four daughters: Bonnie Hunter, Springfield, Joann Wallace, St. Louis, Ruby Schuetz and Crystal Rambo, both of Urbana; her mother, Opal Hayes, Buffalo; two brothers: John Hayes, Drexel, and David Hayes, Martin City; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
