Melven E. Bellar, 90, of Marion, died June 14, 2000, at Salem Springlake Care Center. She was a member of Mexico Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Bellar of Bell Buckle, Tenn., and Jim Bellar of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Rosalea Koon of Albuquerque, Mexico; three grandsons; and a great-grandson, Nathan, of Lakeland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Bellar; and four sisters, Geneva Humphrey, Felna Harrelson, Virginia Shewmaker, and Fleta Gass. Her parents were James and Macie Champion.

Services were held June 17 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Rodney Groff officiating. Burial was in Mexico Cemetery.
