On 3 Nov 1950 Carl married Patsy Martin in Baton Rouge, Baton Rouge Parish, LA. Carl and Patsy had two daughters: Diana and Denise.
Carl's obit notes that he was a retired construction worker. Patsy preceded Carl in death, dying Feb. 1, 1995. Carl died at age 78 in the Red River Heath Care Center in Bogata.
The obituary lists the following survivors: his two daughters, Diana Huddleston of Denton and Denise Burns of Austin; five grandchildren; three great-grandsons; a stepson, Tommy Holley of Baton Rouge, La.; two brothers, Gerald Burns of mount Pleasant and Royce Burns of Redwater; and two sisters, Billie Lewis and Ollie Ruth Robinson, both of Bogata; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were under the pavillion of Bogata Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
