COLCHESTER - Jessica Jill Bushey was born on Dec. 23, 1954 in Albany, N.Y.

As a child, Jessy grew up on North Avenue in Burlington, Vt. Along with her parents, Jillian and Fredrick Gundlach, she had two siblings: Cheryl Malik and Grant Gundlach. Jessy was a cheerleader during her High School years, she graduated from Burlington High School in 1973.

Jessy married her husband Larry Bushey in the fall of 1979, they were divorced in 2008. They had two children, Larry Bushey Jr., now 29 and Amber Bushey, 28. She was happy to be a grandmother to Hudson Joseph Gorbette, born Dec. 9, 2006 to Amber and Wesley Gabriel Bushey born Jan. 13, 2009, to Larry and Nermin.

Jessy was a wife and mother and later worked for the Colchester School district as a Head Cook and L&L Transit Inc. as Operations Manager from 2001 to 2006. Jessy loved her children, she never missed one of her sons sporting events and would drive her daughter to horse shows throughout the states.

She also lived in California and Arizona and loved to travel. Jessy loved to cook, and one vegetable "was never enough". She enjoyed sewing, getting a suntan and had a talent for finding a good sale.

Jessy was loved by all who knew her, when she walked into a room there was a presence about her. Jessy passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in Tucson, Ariz. by natural causes.

Jessy was predeceased by her biological father Steven Malik.

There will be an evening service at Ready's Funeral Home South, 261 Shelburne Rd. on Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m.

A Mass will be held at Holy Cross Church in Colchester on Friday, March 12 at 11 a.m., with a burial service at Resurrection Park, Hinesburg Rd. in South Burlington to follow immediately after.

Nurturing family, loving friends and a peaceful nature, that was Jessy.
