Sylvester Younger Sr. of South Boston died March 8 at Danville Regional Medical Center at the age of 68. Mr. Younger was born in Halifax County on September 26, 1926, the son of Henry Ragis Younger and Estelle Woody Younger. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and a WWII Army Veteran. Survivors include three daughters, Hymmada Fareed, Carolyn Cole and Anita Jackson; one son, Sylvester Jr; two sisters, Mary White and Nannie Louise Booker; one brother, Willie Junious Younger; fourteen grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; on God-daughter, Janice White and other relatives and friends. Internment at Berry Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
