Lois Nona Minor, 80, longtime resident of Avondale, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2007, at Churchman Village, Newark, Del.
She was the widow of the late James Ernest Minor, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage until his death in 2003.
Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late George and Mabel Whyte Jamison. She grew up in midtown Manhattan, New York City.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Kelton.
A dietitian at Embreeville Hospital, she retired in 1992 after 20 years of service.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, dancing and watching old movies on TV.
Her survivors include two sons, Lawrence E. ‘Mike' Minor and his wife, Sharon of New Castle, Del., Vincent A. Minor and his wife, Minda of Coatesville; one daughter, Iris Minor Hurtt and her husband, Joseph of New Castle, Del.; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Jerome R. Minor and her infant son, Philip A. Minor.
Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, July 12, at the Church of Christ, 182 Jennersville Road, Kelton. Her funeral service will follow at the church at noon.
Interment will be in the Church of Christ Cemetery, Route 82, Coatesville.
