Gwendolyn H. Shaughnessy Covert, 91, of Bradford was a daughter of the late George and Felicia (Bodine) Hemphill. She was a 1935 graduate of Bradford High School and very active in the Reunion Committee.
On July 17, 1954 in St. Francis Church, she married Robert T. Shaughnessy who died September 4, 1964, In 1966 she married Walter D. Covert who died in February of 1967.
She was formerly employed at Anderson's Market in East Bradford, Lloyd Smith's, Bradford Area United Fund, and prior to her retirement at the Bradford Visiting Nurses Association.
She was a member of St. Bernard Church, and the St. Francis 50 Plus Group.
Surviving is one daughter, Joan E. (Larry) Yohe, one grandson, Jeremy (Laura) Yohe, 2 granddaughters: Christy (Ben Graham) Yohe, and Rebecca (Mike) Ward, 6 great grandchildren: Ryan, Adam and Sean Ward, Emma and Kari Yohe, and Alex Graham, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister June E. Shaughnessy, and one brother George W. Hemphill.
