Dorothy Blythe was born in New Orleans La Nov 24, 1918 as the fifth of nine children [Marion Alice, Thomas Charles, Kathryn Elizabeth, David Crockett, William Thomas, Martha Frances, Barbara Virginia and Patricia Claire].

Dorothy graduated from Sacred Heart High School in New Orleans, La and later worked as Secretary to the General at the Port of Embarkation where she met Thomas James Ford her future husband. Dorothy and Thomas married in 1943 and had four children - Bonnie Anne, Thomas James Jr, Sally Mary and Diane Marie.

Dorothy worked as a Court Stenographer for the City of New Orleans from 1960 until her retirement in 1984. She and Tommy then moved to Lake Fairways Country Club, Ft Myers FL where they enjoyed golf, club activities and playing cards.
