Valentina Flores Dominguez, 87, of China Spring, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010, at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9 a.m. Monday, March 8, at St. Francis Catholic Church with the Rev. Hilario Guajardo as celebrant. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday including a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lake Shore Funeral Home in Waco.

Valentina was born in Burnett County, Texas, born to the late Mariano and Maria (Chacon) Flores, one of 12 children. She married Julian Dominguez on Oct. 3, 1943, at St. Francis Catholic Church. She loved all flowers and plants. Being a wife of a dairy farmer, she and her children worked long and hard hours, but she loved it all.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Alice Dominguez; son-in-law, Paul Sullivan; two daughters-in-law; four sisters; and six brothers.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Julian Dominguez; daughter, Pat Sullivan, of Laredo; sons, Manuel Dominguez, of Lucedale, Miss., John Dominguez and wife, Judy, of China Spring, Charlie Dominguez and wife, Shirley, of Bryan, and Alex Dominguez and wife, Susan, of Waco; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Pete Flores, of McGregor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
